Introduction

Some customers may notice that the rear door opening weatherstrip pulls away from the body either at the top of the opening or on the side by the door striker. An improved service part has been developed to correct this condition.

Warranty Information

APPLICABLE WARRANTY

^ This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.





Required Tools & Equipment

Repair Procedure





1. Remove the rear door opening weatherstrip and discard.

NOTE
The weatherstrip CANNOT be reused.





2. Clean the non-dried sealer and dirt from the body pinch weld with 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner.





3. Apply 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive to the body pinch weld and the weatherstrip as shown in the illustration.

NOTE
Apply adhesive to both sides in the apply zone only.





4. Install the NEW weatherstrip.

^ Begin installation of the NEW weatherstrip at the point shown in the illustration.

^ Make any necessary adjustments quickly before the adhesive dries.
