Throttle Body: Service and Repair

Throttle W/Monitor Body Assy(2UZ-FE):

REPLACEMENT

1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSY
a. Remove the 2 nuts and V-bank cover sub-assembly.

3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSY
a. Disconnect the vacuum hoses (for the P/S idle-up and fuel pressure regulator) and ventilation hose.
b. Remove the air cleaner hose assembly.

4. REMOVE THROTTLE W/MOTOR BODY ASSY




a. Disconnect the water by-pass hose, water by-pass hose No.7 and the throttle position sensor connector.




b. Remove the 3 bolts and nut.
c. Remove the throttle body and the throttle body gasket.

5. INSTALL THROTTLE W/MOTOR BODY ASSY
a. Install a new gasket and the throttle body with the 3 bolts and nut.
Torque: 14 N.m (143 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)
b. Connect the water by-pass hose, water by-pass hose No.7 and throttle position sensor connector.

6. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSY
7. ADD ENGINE COOLANT
8. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS
9. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSY
Install the V-bank cover sub-assembly with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 7.5 N.m (80 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf)
