Installation








DRIVE SHAFT: REAR DRIVE SHAFT (for TMC Made 4WD): INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Align the shaft splines and install the drive shaft assembly using a brass bar and hammer.
- Set the snap ring with the opening side facing downward.
- Be careful not to damage the oil seal boot and dust cover.
- Move the drive shaft assembly while keeping it level.

2. INSTALL REAR AXLE CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Push the rear axle carrier sub-assembly LH toward the inside of the vehicle fitting it to the spline part of the rear drive shaft assembly LH and insert.
NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the joint boot and speed sensor rotor.
- Do not push out the rear axle carrier sub-assembly LH excessively.

3. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN NO. 2 REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY Installation
4. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR STRUT ROD ASSEMBLY Installation
5. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN NO. 1 REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY Installation
6. INSTALL REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Air Suspension) Installation
7. INSTALL REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ HID Headlight System) Installation
8. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT LH NUT
(a) Clean the threaded parts on the drive shaft and rear axle shaft LH nut using a non-residue solvent.
NOTICE:
- Be sure to perform this work for a new drive shaft.
- Keep the threaded parts free of oil and foreign objects.





(b) Install a new rear axle shaft LH nut.
Torque: 294 Nm (3,000 kgf-cm, 217ft-lbf)
(c) Using a chisel and hammer, stake the rear axle shaft LH nut.
9. INSTALL SPEED SENSOR REAR LH
(a) Install the speed sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71in-lbf)
HINT:
- Be careful not to damage the speed sensor.
- Prevent foreign matter from adhering to the speed sensor.
- Do not twist the sensor wire when installing the sensor.

10. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76ft-lbf)
11. STABILIZE SUSPENSION Installation
12. FULLY TIGHTEN NO. 2 REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY Installation
13. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR STRUT ROD ASSEMBLY Installation
14. FULLY TIGHTEN NO. 1 REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY Installation
15. ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT

16. ADJUST HEADLIGHT AIM ONLY (w/ HID Headlight System)

17. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
