OVERVIEW

This document details the procedure for identifying affected Hybrid Electronic Cluster (HEC) modules by using the NGS or WDS service tools. HEC modules that are identified as affected components must be replaced.

1. Replace the HEC module following the service procedure in Section 413-01 of the Town Car Workshop Manual.

2. Program all of the customer's keys to the new HEC module.

3. If the vehicle fails to start after replacing the HEC module and programming all the keys, disconnect the battery negative cable for ten minutes then follow the key programming sequence again.
