Removal and Installation

1. Remove the rear bumper cover. For additional information, refer to Bumper Cover - Rear Service and Repair.

2. Remove the 2 rear bumper nuts.
- To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

3. Remove the 2 rear bumper bolts.
- To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

4. Remove the rear bumper.

5. NOTE: Any time the rear bumper nuts are removed, it is necessary to re-tighten the rear bumper double-ended studs.

Inspect the rear bumper double-ended studs for damage. If necessary, install new rear double-ended studs.

- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
