Front Door: Adjustments

DOOR ALIGNMENT - FRONT DOOR

All alignments


NOTE: Driver side shown, passenger side similar.






1. Remove the door latch striker plate.

Front door in and out, up and down alignment





1. Loosen, but do not remove, the front door hinge-to-front door fasteners enough to allow door alignment.

Front door fore, aft and tilt alignment

1. Remove the front fender. See Fender Removal/Installation.






2. Loosen, but do not remove, the upper front door hinge-to-body fasteners enough to allow door alignment.






3. Remove the front door scuff plate.

4. Partially remove the front door weatherstrip.

5. Remove the lower cowl trim panel.

- Remove the pin-type retainer.
- Remove the lower cowl trim panel.






6. Remove the front door hinge-to-body bolts inside at the inside A-pillar.

7. Position the weather shield aside and loosen, but do not remove, the front door lower hinge nut.

8. Loosen, but do not remove, the lower front door hinge-to-body fasteners enough to allow door alignment.

All alignments

1. Adjust the door.

2. Tighten the door fasteners.

- Tighten the front door hinge-to-front door fasteners to 30 Nm {3.0 kgf-m, 22 ft-lbf}.
- Tighten the front door hinge-to-body fasteners to 30 Nm {3.0 kgf-m, 22 ft-lbf}.

3. Install and adjust the door striker as necessary. See Adjustments.

4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
