PINPOINT TEST 4: THE REGEN BRAKING DISABLED MESSAGE IS INOPERATIVE/ALWAYS ON - HYBRID
Normal Operation
The instrument cluster receives the regenerative brake disabled status from the PCM over the high speed controller area network (HS-CAN) communication bus. If the regenerative braking system is disabled, the PCM sends a command to the instrument cluster to display the regenerative braking disabled message.
If the regenerative braking message is missing, the instrument cluster sets DTC U0100 in continuous memory and the regenerative braking disabled message remains in the last indication mode (on or off). If the REGEN braking message is deemed invalid by the instrument cluster, the instrument cluster defaults the regenerative braking disabled message off.
