REPAIR PROCEDURE
NOTE:
^ If any additional DTCs are set, diagnose and repair those DTC's first. If DTC U2062 is set alone or is set after diagnosing and repairing other DTC's, perform the following repair procedure.
1. Verify customer concern.
2. Record customers radio station presets.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable for the 12v battery located in the engine compartment.
4. Locate grounds G8 and G9 (A) for the ABS controller. Refer to WIRING DIAGRAM - 01G-1 - GROUND POINT for Tribute Hybrid located on MS3. The grounds are located on the right hand side frame rail under the hydraulic control unit (HCU).
5. Disconnect grounds G8 and G9 (A), clean the ground stud threads and contact surface.
6. Disconnect connector 0413-101 (47 PIN HCU connector) and remove red plastic lock from inside the connector.
7. Open the back cover of connector 0413-101 and locate the black ground wires in pin locations 16 and 47. Remove pins 16 and 47 from connector 0413-101. Remove tape from harness loom and cut the two ground circuits 1 inch into the harness loom. Tape the ends of the ground circuits and re-tape the harness loom into original position using vinyl tape or equivalent.
8. Using the wires provided in the ground harness, insert the pins into 0413-101 at pin locations 16 and 47. Tape the ground harness wires to the existing harness (A) until you reach the ground locations G8 and G9 (B). Install the red plastic pin terminal lock into 0413-101 and connect to the HCU.
9. Locate the existing ground eyelets for G8 and G9 (B) that were removed in Step 5.
10. Cut and remove the existing ground eyelets for G8 and G9 near the harness and tape exposed ends to the existing harness.
11. Route the ground harness eyelets (B) to the ground studs on the frame rail (C) attaching the HCU bracket (D) and secure the grounds.
12. Reconnect the negative battery cable for the 12v battery located in the engine compartment. Input recorded customer radio station presets. Set the clock.
13. Verify repair.
