Front Door Hinge: Adjustments

HINGE ADJUSTMENT - FRONT DOOR



LH and RH Sides

NOTE:Make sure the rear door is within specification before making any adjustments to the front door. See Adjustments.

1. Remove the fender. See Fender Removal/Installation.






2. Mark the positions of the front door hinges to use as reference points.






3. Loosen the two front door hinge-to-body bolts just enough to permit movement.






4. Remove the A-pillar lower trim panel.
a. Remove the pin-type retainer.

b. Remove the A-pillar lower trim panel.

RH Side





1. Position the inertia fuel shutoff (IFS) switch bracket aside.
a. Remove the bolts.

b. Position the bracket aside.

LH and RH Sides





1. Loosen the lower door hinge bolt just enough to permit movement.






2. Adjust the front door to specification.






3. Tighten the rear door hinge-to-door bolts to 24 Nm {2.4 kgf-m, 18 ft-lbf}.

RH Side





1. Install the IFS bracket.
a. Position the bracket.

b. Install the 2 bolts and tighten to 8 Nm {0.8 kgf-m, 71 in-lbf}.

LH and RH Sides





1. Install the A-pillar lower trim panel.
a. Position the A-pillar lower trim panel.

b. Install the pin-type retainers.

2. Install the fender. See Fender Removal/Installation.
