INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - HYBRID
Removal
1. If installing a new instrument cluster, upload the module configuration information to the scan tool. See Programmable Module Installation (PMI).
2. Lower the tilt steering column to the lowest position.
3. Pull the instrument cluster finish panel straight out to release the retainer clips and remove the finish panel.
- Disconnect the instrument panel dimmer switch electrical connector and the ambient air temperature sensor (if equipped).
4. Remove the 4 instrument cluster screws and the instrument cluster.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
Installation
1. Position the instrument cluster, connect the electrical connector and install the 4 instrument cluster screws.
2. Position the instrument cluster finish panel, connect the instrument panel dimmer switch electrical connector, the ambient air temperature sensor (if equipped) and install the finish panel.
3. If installing a new instrument cluster, download the instrument cluster configuration information from the scan tool into the new instrument cluster. See Programmable Module Installation (PMI).
4. If installing a new instrument cluster, carry out the parameter reset and key programming procedure. See Integrated Keyhead Transmitter (IKT) Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment and Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset.
NOTE:If a new instrument cluster is installed, the instrument cluster and the PCM require a parameter reset to allow the instrument cluster and the PCM to recognize each other. Failure to carry out the parameter reset to the instrument cluster and the PCM may result in a no start condition.
NOTE:If equipped, the vehicles passive anti-theft system (PATS) keys must be programmed to the new instrument cluster.
