CRANKSHAFT END PLAY INSPECTION/REPAIR [WLT-1, WLT-2, WL-3]

1. Install the main bearing cap. (See CYLINDER BLOCK DISASSEMBLY (I) [WLT-1, WLT-2, WL-3].)
2. Measure the crankshaft end play.

• If the end play exceeds the maximum specification, replace the thrust bearing or grind the crankshaft and install an oversized bearing so that the specified end play is obtained.

Thrust bearing thickness

Standard: 2.454—2.506 mm {0.0967—0.0986 in}
0.35 {0.014} oversize: 2.629—2.681 mm {0.1036—0.1055 in}
3. Remove the main bearing cap. (See CYLINDER BLOCK DISASSEMBLY (III) [WLT-1, WLT-2, WL-3].)
