Using M‐MDS

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC.

2.  After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initial screen of the M-MDS.

•  When using the IDS (notebook PC)
1.  Select the “Toolbox” tab.
2.  Select “SelfTest”.
3.  Select “Module”.
4.  Select “PCM”.
•  When using the PDS (pocket PC)
1.  Select “Module Tests”.
2.  Select “PCM”.
3.  Select “SelfTest”.

3.  Verify the DTC according to the directions on the M-MDS screen.

4.  Press the clear button on the DTC screen to clear the DTC.

5.  Verify that no DTCs are displayed.


Not Using M‐MDS

1.  After repairs, disconnect the negative battery cable for at least 20 s, and depress the brake pedal. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

Note
•  If the engine will not start, keep the starter operated for 5—6 s.

2.  Warm up the engine to normal operation temperature.

3.  Perform “DTCs Retrieving Procedure”, then verify that there in no DTC present. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [WLT-2].)

•  If a DTC is present, perform the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [WLT-2].)
