Operation Inspection

Note

•  Perform the following test only when directed.

1.  Carry out the "Idle Air Control (IAC) Inspection". (See ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION INSPECTION [F2].)

2.  Remove the BAC valve. (See BYPASS AIR CONTROL (BAC) VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [F2].)

3.  Add cold water into the engine coolant passage of the BAC valve to reduce the air valve temperature.

4.  Verify that the air valve operates when hot water is added into the engine coolant passage of the BAC valve.

•  If not as operate, replace the BAC valve.

5.  Install the BAC valve.
