•  A strong lateral airflow occurs in the cylinder during the intake air process due to one of the intake air ports being closed. The lateral airflow disperses vaporized fuel injected from the fuel injector nozzle producing a uniform mix of air and fuel. As a result, emission performance at low engine speeds is improved.
