On-vehicle Inspection

Note

•  Perform the following test only when directed.

1.  With the engine idling, disconnect the fuel cut solenoid valve.

2.  If the engine does not stop, carry out the following inspection.

Operation Inspection

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.  Remove the fuel cut solenoid valve.

3.  Connect the battery positive voltage to the fuel cut solenoid valve terminal and ground the fuel cut solenoid valve body.

4.  Verify that the fuel cut solenoid valve stem is drawn into the fuel cut solenoid valve.

5.  Replace the fuel cut solenoid valve if not as specified. If as specified, inspect following:

Open circuit

•  Ground circuit (Fuel cut solenoid valve body and engine switch terminal IG1)

•  Power circuit (Fuel cut solenoid valve terminal and engine switch terminal IG1)

Short circuit

•  Ground circuit (Fuel cut solenoid valve body and engine switch terminal IG1 to ground)

•  Power circuit (Fuel cut solenoid valve terminal and engine switch terminal IG1 to ground)

6.  Repair or replace malfunctioning areas.

7.  Install the fuel cut solenoid valve.

8.  Reconnect the negative battery cable.
