•  The idle air control (IAC) actuates the IAC valve and controls the bypass air amount that passes through the throttle body to improve fuel economy, serviceability, idle stability and drivability.

•  Idle air control is broadly divided into four zones: start, initial setting, closed loop, and open loop. The PCM carries out various corrections to obtain the target airflow amount for each zone.
