• The fuel pump speed sensor detects the alternating voltage produced by the change in the magnetic field of the projection on the sensor ring as a fuel pump speed signal and as a cylinder discrimination signal.
• The CKP sensor also detects the engine speed signal, but in the event that the CKP sensor malfunctions, PCM detects the engine speed signal using fuel pump speed sensor.
