SEAT WARMER UNIT INSPECTION

1.  Remove the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.  Inspect seat warmer unit at room temperature of 20 °C {68°F}.

3.  Apply battery positive voltage to the seat warmer unit terminal A, connect the ground to terminal B, and measure the temperature of thermometal switch with a thermometer.

4.  When the temperature of the thermometal switch is approx. 40 °C {104°F}, inspect the resistance between the seat warmer unit terminals using an ohmmeter.Verify that the resistance changes from approx. 4.8 ohms to approx. 13.0 ohms.

5.  Remove battery positive voltage from seat warmer unit terminals.

6.  When the temperature of the thermometal switch is approx. 30°C{86F}, inspect the resistance between the seat warmer unit terminals using an ohmmeter. Verify that resistance changes from approx. 13.0 ohms to approx. 4.8 ohms.

7.  If any of the above–mentioned steps are not as specified, replace the seat back pad (with seat warmer unit) and seat cushion pad (with seat warmer unit).
