1. Tachometer accuracy check

1) Connect the scan tool to the DLC.

2) Start the engine.

3) Use a scan tool to display the engine rpm.

4) Compare the tachometer display and the scan tool display.

Note

The meter tolerances shown in the table are the specifications for a meter unit. Consider them as reference values for the on-vehicle inspection.

5) Verify that the movement of the gauge needle is smooth when the engine speed is gradually increased or decreased.

6) Compare the engine speed readings and verify that they are within the meter tolerance.
