2. Preliminary and post procedures

1. Preliminary procedures

1) Open the engine hood.

2) Disconnect the battery cable from the battery negative terminal.

Caution

  • After turning OFF the ignition switch (power mode for models with passive entry and start system), do not disconnect the battery cable within 3 minutes.
  • If the battery cable is disconnected within 3 minutes, the vehicle electronic control system may malfunction.
  • If the battery cable is disconnected, perform the setting of the front door power window switch with AUTO UP/AUTO DOWN function after connecting the battery negative terminal.

3. Rear tongue side seat belt (center) disconnect

1) Pull down the nylon cover of buckle A.

2) Insert latch plate B into the release slot and disconnect latch plate A from buckle A.

Caution

  • When retracting the belt, be sure to hold latch plate A by hand so as not to damage a nearby window or trim.

3) Return the nylon cover to the original position.

4. Rear seat removal

1. Crew cab

1) Remove the side cover from the hinge bracket.

2) Pull the seat back folding strap, tilt the seat back, and remove the nuts.

3) Pull the tip-up strap and raise the seat cushion, then remove the bolts.

4) Disconnect the seat belt guide from the rear seat headrest.

5) Remove the rear seat from the floor.

2. Extend cab

1) Open the rear seat cover caps and remove the nuts from the rear seat.

2) Remove the rear seat from the floor.

3) Remove the screw from the rear seat.

4) Remove the rear seat cover from the rear seat.
