Vehicle speed sensor inspection (MVL)

1. Vehicle speed sensor inspection

1) Connect the battery to the vehicle speed sensor.

Note

  • Connect the battery plus terminal to vehicle speed sensor terminal 1, and the battery minus terminal to vehicle speed sensor terminal 2.

Caution

  • Never connect connector terminal 3 of the vehicle speed sensor to positive terminal of the battery.

2) Inspect the vehicle speed sensor using a DMM.

Note

  • Rotate the shaft of the vehicle speed sensor slowly and measure the voltage of the No. 3 and No. 2 terminals using a DMM.

Note

  • Voltage fluctuates 25 times between 2 V and 14 V for each rotation of the wheel speed sensor shaft.
