EGR gas temperature sensor 1 (exhaust manifold side) inspection (4JJ3 with DPD)

1. EGR gas temperature sensor 1 (exhaust manifold side) inspection

EGR gas temperature sensor 1 (front of exhaust manifold) is a thermistor-type sensor in which electric resistance decreases as temperature increases.

1. Visual inspection

1) Inspect EGR gas temperature sensor 1 (exhaust manifold side) for the following.

  • Inspect for dirt and other foreign material attached to the sensor section.
  • Inspect for causes of poor connections such as collapsing or bending of the terminals.

2. Resistance measurement

1) Measure the resistance using a DMM.
