Radar sensor setting

1. Radar sensor safety information

If replacing the radar sensor, it is necessary to write the vehicle information into the new radar sensor.

When replacing the radar sensor, upload the old radar sensor data to a scan tool before removal.

Use the same scan tool for the replacement procedure from beginning until end. If the scan tool is changed during the procedure, the correct information cannot be written.

2. Radar sensor setting

1. Vehicle information download

Only when communication with the old radar sensor can be established, perform the vehicle information download.

Caution

  • Make sure to check the vehicle specification before performing the download.

1) Turn ON the ignition switch.

2) Select "Download Vehicle Configuration Data" on the scan tool.

  • Diagnostics > Chassis > SRR(Rear Left) > Programming > Download Vehicle Configuration Data
  • Diagnostics > Chassis > SRR(Rear Right) > Programming > Download Vehicle Configuration Data

3) Download the vehicle data to the radar sensor by following the on-screen instructions.

4) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds.

2. Vehicle information programming

When communication with the old radar sensor cannot be established or when setting the bumper type, perform the vehicle information programming.

1) Turn ON the ignition switch.

2) Select "Program Vehicle Configuration Data" on the scan tool.

  • Diagnostics > Chassis > SRR(Rear Left) > Programming > Program Vehicle Configuration Data
  • Diagnostics > Chassis > SRR(Rear Right) > Programming > Program Vehicle Configuration Data

3) Following the on-screen instructions, operate the scan tool to program the data into the radar sensor.

Note

  • Referring to following, the bumper type according to the vehicle specifications should be set.

4) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds.

3. Vehicle identification number (VIN) programming

Only when communication with the old radar sensor cannot be established, perform the VIN programming.

1) Select "Program VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)" on the scan tool.

  • Diagnostics > Chassis > SRR(Rear Left) > Programming > Program VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)
  • Diagnostics > Chassis > SRR(Rear Right) > Programming > Program VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)

2) Following the on-screen instructions, operate the scan tool to program the VIN into the control panel.

4. ECU Lock

Note

  • Perform only when replacing the radar sensor with a new one.

1) Select "ECU Lock" on the scan tool.

  • Diagnostics > Chassis > SRR(Rear Left) > Programming > ECU Lock
  • Diagnostics > Chassis > SRR(Rear Right) > Programming > ECU Lock

2) Perform ECU Lock by following the on-screen instructions.

3) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds.

5. DTC verification/clearing

1) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.

2) If a DTC is set, clear the DTC.

3) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

4) Turn ON the ignition switch.

5) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.

6) If a DTC is set, go to the applicable diagnosis.
