2. Preliminary and post procedures

1. Preliminary procedures

1) Open the engine hood.

2) Disconnect the battery cable from the battery negative terminal.

Caution

  • After turning OFF the ignition switch (power mode for models with passive entry and start system), do not disconnect the battery cable within 3 minutes.
  • If the battery cable is disconnected within 3 minutes, the vehicle electronic control system may malfunction.
  • If the battery cable is disconnected, perform the setting of the front door power window switch with AUTO UP/AUTO DOWN function after connecting the battery negative terminal.

3. Clutch pedal removal

1) Disconnect the harness connector from the clutch switch.

2) Remove the pin from the clevis pin.

3) Remove the clevis pin from the clutch pedal.

4) Remove the plate bolt from the clutch pedal.

5) Remove the clutch pedal nut from the dash panel.

4. Clutch master cylinder removal

1) Remove the oil pipe from the clutch master cylinder.

2) Remove the oil hose from the clutch master cylinder.

3) Remove the clutch master cylinder from the dash panel.

2. 4JJ3

1) Disconnect the connector from the clutch master cylinder.

2) Remove the oil pipe from the clutch master cylinder.

3) Remove the oil hose from the clutch master cylinder.

4) Remove the clutch master cylinder from the dash panel.

5. Slave cylinder removal

1) Remove the bushing from the oil hose bracket.

2) Remove the oil hose from the oil pipe connector.

Note

  • Pull out the clip to remove.

1) Remove the bushing from the oil hose bracket.

2) Remove the oil hose from the orifice.

  • Pull out the clip to remove.

9) Remove the damper cylinder from the tire house panel.

1) Remove the bushing from the oil hose bracket.

  • Pull out the clip to remove.
