2. Preliminary and post procedures

1. Preliminary procedures

1) Open the engine hood.

2) Disconnect the battery cable from the battery negative terminal.

Caution

  • After turning OFF the ignition switch (power mode for models with passive entry and start system), do not disconnect the battery cable within 3 minutes.
  • If the battery cable is disconnected within 3 minutes, the vehicle electronic control system may malfunction.
  • If the battery cable is disconnected, perform the setting of the front door power window switch with AUTO UP/AUTO DOWN function after connecting the battery negative terminal.

3. Front sill plate removal

1) Remove the front sill plate from the floor.

Regular cab, crew cab

4. Front door finisher removal

1) Remove the front door finisher from the body.

5. Front pillar trim cover removal

1. Models with assist grips

1) Remove the assist grip from the front pillar trim cover.

2) Remove the front pillar trim cover from the front pillar.

1) Remove the front pillar trim cover from the front pillar.

6. Knee air bag removal

7. Instrument panel driver-side lower cover removal

1. Models with knee airbags

1) Disconnect the wire from each lever.

2) Remove the hood lock control lever and fuel filler lid opener lever from the instrument panel driver-side lower cover.

Note

  • Press the claw section and pull out each lever.

3) Remove the instrument panel driver-side lower cover from the instrument panel.

4) Remove the connector from the instrument panel driver-side lower cover.

2. Models without knee airbags

1) Disconnect the wire from each lever.

2) Remove the hood lock control lever and fuel filler lid opener lever from the instrument panel driver-side lower cover.

Note

  • Press the claw section and pull out each lever.

3) Remove the instrument panel driver-side lower cover from the instrument panel.

4) Remove the connector from the instrument panel driver-side lower cover.

8. Glove box removal

1) Remove the glove box from the instrument panel.

9. Instrument panel passenger-side lower cover removal

1) Remove the instrument panel passenger-side lower cover from the instrument panel.

2) Disconnect the connector from the instrument panel passenger-side lower cover.

10. Audio and navigation system removal

1. Models equipped with display units

1) Remove the display unit as a set with the bezel from the instrument panel.

Caution

  • When removing the display unit, place a cloth to the instrument panel.
  • If a cloth is not used, the surface of the instrument panel may be damaged.

2) Disconnect the connector from the display unit.

3) Remove the audio center unit from the instrument panel.

4) Disconnect the connector from the audio center unit.

2. Models equipped with 2DIN audio

1) Remove the 2DIN audio as a set with the bezel from the instrument panel.

Caution

  • When removing the 2DIN audio, place a cloth to the instrument panel.
  • If a cloth is not used, the surface of the instrument panel may be damaged.

2) Disconnect the connector from the 2DIN audio.

3) Remove the bracket from the instrument panel.

11. Instrument panel passenger-side upper cover removal

1) Remove the instrument panel passenger-side upper cover from the instrument panel.

High grade type (RHD)

12. Meter cluster removal

1) Remove the meter cluster from the instrument panel.

13. Instrument panel cluster removal

1) Remove the instrument panel cluster from the instrument panel.

14. Control panel and control lever removal

1) Remove the instrument panel (middle side) from the instrument panel (lower side).

2) Disconnect the control cable from the lock clamp section.

3) Disconnect the control cable from the intake lever.

4) Remove the control lever from the instrument panel.

15. Center console removal

1) Remove the center console from the instrument panel.

16. Shift console cover removal

1. A/T models

1) Remove the selector lever knob from the selector lever.

Note

  • Lower the selector lever boot from the selector lever knob, and pull out the clip from the bottom of the selector lever knob.

2) Remove the pads from the console box.

4) Disconnect the connector from the shift console cover.

2. M/T models

1) Remove the shift knob from the shift lever.

2) Remove the pads from the console box.

4) Disconnect the connector from the shift console cover.

17. Console box removal

1) Remove the cup holder from the console cover.

2) Remove the console cover from the console box.

3) Remove the console box from the floor.

4) Disconnect the connector from the console box.

18. CD/DVD player removal

1) Remove the CD/DVD player from the instrument panel.

2) Disconnect the connector from the CD/DVD player.

3) Remove the bracket from the instrument panel.

19. Instrument panel removal

1) Remove the side cover from the instrument panel.

2) Disconnect the passenger airbag from the reinforcement.

3) Disconnect the connector from the instrument panel (upper side).

4) Remove the instrument panel (upper side) from the instrument panel (lower side).

High grade type

5) Remove the junction block from the instrument panel (lower side).

6) Disconnect the connector and aspirator hose from the inside air temperature sensor.

7) Remove the harness clip from the instrument panel (lower side).

8) Remove the instrument panel (lower side) from the reinforcement.
