1) Measure the outer diameters of the driven gear shaft and drive gear shaft using a micrometer.
Standard: 15.989 to 16.000 mm { 0.6295 to 0.6299 in }
Limit: 15.900 mm { 0.6260 in }
2) Measure the inner diameter of the cylinder block bushing using a dial gauge.
3) Subtract the cylinder block bushing inner diameter from the driven gear shaft or drive gear shaft outer diameter, and calculate the clearance.
Standard: 0.04 to 0.07 mm { 0.0016 to 0.0028 in }
Limit: 0.20 mm { 0.0079 in }
Note
4) Measure the widths of the driven gear and drive gear using a micrometer.
Standard: 14.5 mm { 0.571 in }
5) Measure the depth of the timing gear case oil pump chamber.
Standard: 14.500 to 14.522 mm { 0.5709 to 0.5717 in }
6) Calculate the clearance between the oil pump gear and timing gear case.
Standard: 0.040 to 0.079 mm { 0.0016 to 0.0031 in }
Limit: 0.10 mm { 0.0039 in }
