EHCU setting

1. EHCU safety information

When replacing the EHCU, it is needed to write the vehicle information to a new EHCU.

When replacing the EHCU, upload the data in the EHCU before replacement to a scan tool, and then remove the EHCU.

Use the same scan tool for the replacement procedure from beginning until end. If the scan tool is changed during the procedure, the correct information cannot be written.

2. EHCU setting

1. VIN programming

1) Only when communication with the old EHCU cannot be established, perform the VIN programming.

2) Turn ON the ignition switch.

3) Select "Program VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)" on the scan tool.

  • Diagnostics > Chassis > ABS/ESC > Programming > Program VIN(Vehicle Identification Number)

4) Operate a scan tool to program the VIN to the EHCU by following the on-screen instructions.

Note

  • Input the VIN indicated on the vehicle ID plate.

5) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds.

2. Vehicle information download

Only when communication with the old EHCU can be established, perform the vehicle information download.

Caution

  • Make sure to check the vehicle specification before performing the download.

1) Turn ON the ignition switch.

2) Select "Download Vehicle Configuration Data" on the scan tool.

  • Diagnostics > Chassis > ABS/ESC > Programming > Download Vehicle Configuration Data

3) Download the vehicle data to the EHCU by following the on-screen instructions.

4) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds.

3. Vehicle programming information

Only when communication with the old EHCU cannot be established, perform the vehicle information programming.

1) Turn ON the ignition switch.

2) Select "Program Vehicle Configuration Data" on the scan tool.

  • Diagnostics > Chassis > ABS/ESC > Programming > Program Vehicle Configuration Data

3) Operate a scan tool to program the data to the EHCU by following the on-screen instructions.

4) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds.

4. Learning for G-Sensor Central Position (ESC specifications or 4WD specifications)

Caution

  • Perform initial learning to a vehicle on a flat area with no front, rear, right, or left inclination (between -3° and 3°).

1) Turn ON the ignition switch.

2) Select "Learning for G-Sensor Central Position" on the scan tool.

  • Diagnostics > Chassis > ABS/ESC > Special Function > Learning for G-Sensor Central Position

3) Perform Learning for G-sensor central position by following the on-screen instructions.

4) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds.

5. ECU Lock

1) Turn ON the ignition switch.

2) Select "ECU Lock" on the scan tool.

  • Diagnostics > Chassis > ABS/ESC > Programming > ECU Lock

3) Perform ECU Lock by following the on-screen instructions.

4) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds.

6. DTC verification/clearing

1) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.

2) If a DTC is set, clear the DTC.

3) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

4) Turn ON the ignition switch.

5) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.

6) If a DTC is set, go to the applicable diagnosis.
