1. All models
1) Inspect the tie rod, tie rod end, lock nut, and boot for the following.
- Wear
- Damage
- Corrosion
- Other malfunctions
Note
- Repair or replace if an abnormal condition is found as a result of inspection.
2) Inspect the tie rod for the following.
- Sufficient resistance when the ball joint is moved
- Any play when the ball joint is moved
Note
- If an abnormal condition is found as a result of inspection, replace the tie rod.
Inspect the tie rod end for the following.
Note
- If an abnormal condition is found as a result of inspection, replace the tie rod end.
2. 2WD (Except high ride suspension specifications)
1) Inspect the tie rod boot for the following.
Note
- If an abnormal condition is found as a result of inspection, replace the boot.
3. 2WD (High ride suspension), 4WD
Caution
- When removing the boot, replace it with a new one even if there is no damage.
