Tightening torque

16: 88 N・m { 9.0 kgf・m / 65 lb・ft }

2. Outside drive shaft disassembly

1) Remove the 6 balls from the ball retainer using a screwdriver.

Legend

  1. Ball

2) Remove the snap ring from the outside drive shaft using snap ring pliers.

Note

  • Remove the following parts at the same time.
  • Ball retainer
  • Ball guide
  • Boot A

Legend

  1. Snap ring

Caution

  • Do not reuse the snap ring.

3) Remove the 3 claws of large boot band B using a hammer and chisel.

4) Remove large boot band B from boot B.

Caution

  • Do not damage boot B when removing.
  • Do not reuse large boot band B.

Legend

5) Remove the 3 claws of small boot band B using a hammer and chisel.

6) Remove small boot band B from boot B.

Caution

  • Do not damage boot B when removing.
  • Do not reuse small boot band B.

7) Remove dust seal from the outside drive shaft.

8) Remove boot B from the outside drive shaft.

3. Inside drive shaft disassembly

1) Remove the following parts from the inside drive shaft.

  • Snap ring
  • Bearing
  • Snap ring
  • Oil seal

Caution

  • Do not reuse the snap ring.

2) Remove the inside drive shaft from the axle mounting bracket.

4. Axle mounting bracket disassembly

1) Remove the bushing from the axle mounting bracket using a hammer and the special tool.
