Parking aid system control unit setting

1. Parking aid system control unit safety information

When replacing the parking aid system control unit, make sure to write the vehicle information into the new parking aid system control unit.

When replacing the parking aid system control unit, upload the data in the old parking aid system control unit to the scan tool before replacing.

Use the same scan tool for the replacement procedure from beginning until end. If the scan tool is changed during the procedure, the correct information cannot be written.

2. Parking aid system control unit setting

1. Vehicle information download

Only when communication with the old parking aid system control unit can be established, perform the vehicle information download.

Caution

  • Make sure to check the vehicle specification before performing the download.

1) Turn ON the ignition switch.

2) Select "Download Vehicle Configuration Data" on the scan tool.

  • Diagnostics > Chassis > Parking Aid > Programming > Download Vehicle Configuration Data

3) Following the on-screen instructions, download the vehicle data into the parking aid system control unit.

4) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds.

2. Vehicle information programming

Only when communication with the old parking aid system control unit cannot be established, perform the vehicle information programming.

1) Turn ON the ignition switch.

2) Select "Program Vehicle Configuration Data" on the scan tool.

  • Diagnostics > Chassis > Parking Aid > Programming > Program Vehicle Configuration Data

3) Following the on-screen instructions, operate the scan tool to program the data into the parking aid system control unit.

4) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds.

3. VIN programming

1) Turn ON the ignition switch.

2) Select "Program VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)" on the scan tool.

  • Diagnostics > Chassis > Parking Aid > Programming > Program VIN(Vehicle Identification Number)

3) Following the on-screen instructions, operate the scan tool to program the VIN into the parking aid system control unit.

Note

  • Input the VIN indicated on the vehicle ID plate.

4) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds.

4. ECU Lock

Note

  • Perform only when replacing a parking aid system control unit with a new one.

1) Turn ON the ignition switch.

2) Select "ECU Lock" on the scan tool.

  • Diagnostics > Chassis > Parking Aid > Programming > ECU Lock

3) Perform ECU Lock by following the on-screen instructions.

4) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds.

5. DTC verification/clearing

1) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.

2) If a DTC is set, clear the DTC.

3) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

4) Turn ON the ignition switch.

5) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.

6) If a DTC is set, go to the applicable diagnosis.
