Tightening torque

7: 9 to 13 N・m { 0.9 to 1.3 kgf・m / 80 to 115 lb・in }

8: 32 to 42 N・m { 3.3 to 4.3 kgf・m / 24 to 31 lb・ft }

10: 29 to 39 N・m { 3.0 to 4.0 kgf・m / 21 to 29 lb・ft }

2. Disc wheel removal

1. Models with aluminum wheels

1) Move the vehicle to a flat surface.

2) Pull the parking brake lever.

3) Secure the vehicle using chock blocks.

4) Raise the vehicle.

Note

  • Jack up the vehicle but not to an extent that the tire leaves the ground.

5) Remove the wheel cap from the disc wheel.

Note

  • Insert a tool with flat tip such as a flathead screwdriver into the wheel cap groove to remove.

6) Loosen the wheel nuts.

Note

  • Loosen without allowing the disc wheel to rattle.

Caution

  • At this time, do not remove the wheel nuts.

7) Raise the vehicle.

Note

  • Jack up the vehicle until the tire is completely off the ground.
  • Support the frame using a chassis stand as necessary.

8) Remove the disc wheel from the vehicle.

2. Models with steel wheels

1) Move the vehicle to a flat surface.

2) Pull the parking brake lever.

3) Secure the vehicle using chock blocks.

4) Raise the vehicle.

Note

  • Jack up the vehicle but not to an extent that the tire leaves the ground.

5) Remove the wheel cap from the disc wheel.

6) Loosen the wheel nuts.

Note

  • Loosen without allowing the disc wheel to rattle.

Caution

  • At this time, do not remove the wheel nuts.

7) Raise the vehicle.

Note

  • Jack up the vehicle until the tire is completely off the ground.
  • Support the frame using a chassis stand as necessary.

8) Remove the disc wheel and wheel cap from the vehicle.

3. Disc brake pad removal

1) Disconnect the brake hose center bracket from the knuckle or shock absorber.

2WD (High ride suspension specifications), 4WD

Caution

  • Do not disconnect the brake hose from the brake caliper when replacing the disc brake pad.

2) Remove the lock pin side lock bolt from the brake caliper.

3) Referring to the diagram, raise the brake caliper by rotating it upward around the guide pin.

Caution

  • Do not depress the brake pedal when disconnecting the brake caliper from the brake support.

If the brake pedal is depressed, the piston will shoot out.

4) Secure the brake caliper to the upper link or to the frame using a wire etc.

5) Remove the disc brake pad and shim from the brake support.

6) Remove the pad clips from the brake support.

Caution

  • Do not reuse the pad clips.

7) Clean the grease of the pad clips and brake support.
