The transfer control failure symptoms are divided into symptoms that can be detected by the DTCs via illumination of the check 4WD warning light, and symptoms that the driver can detect as vehicle problems. Continue the diagnosis in accordance with the diagnostic system check-transfer case controls.
The TCCM has a self-diagnosis function and performs the check operation at the time of system start-up to determine the presence of system malfunctions and failed sections. If a malfunction is detected, the check 4WD warning light is illuminated and the DTC is stored.
Caution
The TCCM turns OFF the check 4WD warning light when the diagnostic runs and passes. A current DTC is cleared when the diagnostic runs and passes. A history DTC is recorded until the log is cleared with a scan tool. The DTC can be cleared with a scan tool.
The differential lock control failure symptoms are categorized into symptoms that can be detected by the DTCs via illumination of the rear differential lock failure warning light, and symptoms which the driver can recognize as vehicle problems. Continue the diagnosis in accordance with the diagnostic system check - differential lock controls.
The rear differential lock control unit has a self-diagnosis function, and it starts diagnosing the system when the ignition switch is turned ON. This continues until the ignition switch is turned OFF. If a malfunction is found, a DTC is set and the rear differential lock failure warning light illuminates.
Caution
When the diagnostic runs and passes, the rear differential lock control unit turns OFF the rear differential lock failure warning light. A current DTC is cleared when the diagnostic runs and passes. A past DTC is recorded until the log is cleared with a scan tool. The DTC can be cleared with a scan tool.
