1. Rear wheel cylinder inspection

1) Clean each part.

Note

  • In cleaning the wheel cylinder parts, make sure to use clean brake fluid.

Caution

  • Do not use cleaning agents consisting of mineral oil components such as gasoline, kerosene, acetone, thinner, carbon tetrachloride, etc.

2) Inspect the rear wheel cylinder for the following.

  • Wear
  • Damage
  • Other malfunctions

Note

  • Repair or replace if any abnormal conditions are found.

3) Inspect the wheel cylinder body for the following.

  • Wear
  • Corrosion
  • Abrasion
  • Scratches
  • Rust
  • Deterioration
  • Other malfunctions

4) Inspect the piston for the following.

  • Wear
  • Corrosion
  • Abrasion
  • Scratches
  • Rust
  • Deterioration
  • Other malfunctions

5) Inspect the piston cup for the following.

  • Wear
  • Bending
  • Corrosion
  • Abrasion
  • Scratches
  • Rust
  • Deterioration
  • Fatigue
  • Other malfunctions

6) Inspect the return spring for the following.

  • Wear
  • Corrosion
  • Abrasion
  • Scratches
  • Rust
  • Deterioration
  • Other malfunctions
