2. Power steering unit disassembly

1. Hydraulic power steering unit

Caution

  • Do not deform or damage the aluminum valve housing when securing it with a vise, etc.

1) Remove the tie rod end from the tie rod.

2) Remove the clip from the boot using pliers.

Note

  • Slide the clip in the direction of the tie rod end.

3) Remove the boot band from the boot using a screwdriver.

Caution

  • Do not damage the boot when removing the boot band.

4) Remove the boot from the housing.

5) Remove the tab washer from the tie rod.

Note

  • Flatten the folded tab washer.

6) Remove the tie rod from the housing.

7) Remove the oil line from the housing.

8) Remove the mounting rubber from the housing.

9) Remove the dust cover from the housing.

10) Remove the opposite boot in the same process as above.

2. Electric power steering unit

Caution

  • Do not deform or damage the aluminum valve housing when securing it with a vise, etc.

1) Remove the tie rod end from the tie rod.

2) Remove the clip from the boot using pliers.

Note

  • Slide the clip in the direction of the tie rod end.

3) Remove the boot band from the boot using a screwdriver.

Caution

  • Do not damage the boot when removing the boot band.

4) Remove the boot from the housing.

5) Remove the opposite boot in the same process as above.
