1. Information module overview
The information module is an integrated control unit with the following functions.
- CAN communication function
- DRM function
- Data recording function
- Self-diagnosis function
2. Function of information module
1. CAN communication function
The information module receives signals from each control unit via the Powertrain and Chassis CAN communication circuits. Also, it receives signals from the control unit connected to Body or Information CAN communication circuit via the central gateway control unit.
2. DRM function
This function is for recording control data before and after a failure in the engine, etc., is detected, and for assisting with irreproducible trouble diagnoses. The data accumulated before and after failure occurrences and from driving conditions is used to perform the trouble diagnosis.
3. Self-diagnosis function
If the function is not operating correctly, the DTC is set.
