1. The power mode does not change diagnostics

1. Pre-check and visual inspection

Check the battery voltage.
Charge or replace the battery if battery voltage is low.

Check the fuses.
If an abnormal condition such as a blowout is found in fuses, repair the cause for blowout before replacing the fuses.

Check the ground point.
Repair and clean the ground point if improperly installed or significantly dirty.

Check the harness and connectors.
Inspect for poor connections at the connectors, worn or bent harnesses, or for shorts to other circuits in the wires inside the harness.

Check for any interference from aftermarket electronic components such as wireless devices or lights.
Turn OFF or remove any aftermarket electronic components to ensure that there is no influence on inspections or operations.

2. Components inspection

Observe the Wireless Access Module (passive entry and start system) registration information with a scan tool.

Check the Wireless Access Module.
Observe the DTC with a scan tool, and diagnose the applicable DTC if a DTC is set.

Check the engine start/stop button.
Replace the engine start/stop button if an abnormal condition is found.

Check the electronic key battery.
Replace the electronic key battery if it is deteriorated.

Check the electronic key.
Replace the electronic key if a malfunction is found.

3. Circuit inspection

Inspect the following circuits for an open circuit, short to the power supply, short to ground, or high resistance. If a malfunction is found in the circuit, repair or replace the applicable circuit.

  • Between the Wireless Access Module and the battery power supply
  • Between the Wireless Access Module and the ground
  • Between the Wireless Access Module and the in-vehicle antenna
  • Between the Wireless Access Module (pins 26 and 27 of B14) and the engine start/stop button (pins 2 and 7 of B44)
  • Between the engine start/stop button (pins 4 and 5 of B44) and the ground
