DETECTION CONDITION

•  4WD CM detects coupling component calibration data error

FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION

•  Control enabled with default data.

•  4WD warning light: Illuminated

POSSIBLE CAUSE

•  Module configuration procedure is not done properly

Diagnostic procedure

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	COUPLING COMPONENT CALIBRATION DATA WRITING • Write the coupling component calibration data. (See COUPLING COMPONENT CALIBRATION DATA WRITING.) • Clear the DTCs from the memory. (See ELECTRONIC 4WD CONTROL SYSTEM ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS.) • Is the same DTC present?		Go to the next step.
2	VERIFY THAT THE SAME DTC IS NOT PRESENT • Clear the DTCs from the memory. (See ELECTRONIC 4WD CONTROL SYSTEM ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS.) • Is the same DTC present?	Yes	Replace the 4WD CM. (See 4WD CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCS ARE PRESENT • Are any other DTCs output?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See ELECTRONIC 4WD CONTROL SYSTEM ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS.)
3		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
