WATER PUMP INSPECTION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER]

Caution

•  The water pump operates by the passage of engine coolant in the water pump. If the water pump is left operating empty for a long period of time, load will be applied to the engine which could cause a malfunction.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT i-stop)].)(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

2.  Disconnect the water pump connector. (See WATER PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER].)

3.  Connect battery positive voltage to water pump terminal B, connect terminal A to ground, and then verify its operation.

•  If there is any malfunction, replace the water pump.
