FRONT FENDER STAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT i-stop)].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Front bumper (See FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Front combination light (See FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Front bumper slider (See BUMPER SLIDER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(4)  Front over fender (See FRONT OVER FENDER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(5)  Front fender panel (See FRONT FENDER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove bolts A and then remove body grounds.

4.  Remove clips B.

5.  Remove bolt C and bolt D.

6.  Remove the front fender stay.

7.  Install in the reverse order of removal. (See Front Fender Stay Newly Replace Note.)

8.  Adjust the headlight aiming. (See HEADLIGHT AIMING.)

9.  Adjust the front fog light aiming. (with front fog lights) (See FRONT FOG LIGHT AIMING.)

Front Fender Stay Newly Replace Note

Caution

•  If the bolt D contact area is painted when the front fender stay is newly replaced, it could cause a malfunction in the PCM. Before painting a newly replaced part, protect the bolt D contact areas with masking tape.

1.  Before painting a newly replaced part, affix masking tape to the shaded areas shown in the figure.

Note

•  After installing the bolt D, apply touch-up paint to the exposed base material area of the front fender stay.
