REAR MOUNT CAMERA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Caution

•  The audio unit determines the presence/non-presence of a rear mount camera and records it based on the communication status when the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on) or to the ACC position for the first time after the negative battery cable is connected.

•  If the negative battery cable is connected while the audio unit has recorded the non-presence of the rear mount camera and thereafter a rear mount camera is installed, the installed rear mount camera will not operate.

•  When installing or removing the rear mount camera, always disconnect the negative battery cable, and after the servicing is completed, switch the ignition to ACC or ON (engine off or on) to allow the audio unit to record the presence/non-presence of the rear mount camera.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) 2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Liftgate upper trim (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Liftgate side trim (See LIFTGATE SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Liftgate lower trim (See LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(4)  Liftgate garnish (See LIFTGATE GARNISH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Press the rear mount camera tabs in the direction of the arrows (1) shown in the figure, pull the rear mount camera in the direction of the arrow (2) shown in the figure, and disengage the rear mount camera tabs from the liftgate garnish.

4.  Remove the rear mount camera.

5.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

6.  If the rear rear mount camera is replaced, perform the parking assist system initialization (calibration). (with European (L.H.D. U.K.) specs.) (See PARKING ASSIST SYSTEM INITIALIZATION (CALIBRATION).)
