Coil resistance inspection

1.  Measure the resistance between terminals A and B using an ohmmeter.

•  If it is not within the specification, replace the OCV.

6.9—7.9 ohms [20°C {68°F}]


Spool valve operation inspection

1.  Visually inspect from the oil passage and verify that the spool valve inside the OCV is at the position shown in the figure.

•  If there is any malfunction, replace the OCV.

Note
•  When applying battery positive voltage between the OCV terminals, the connection can be either of the following:

―  Positive battery cable to terminal A, negative battery cable to terminal B
―  Positive battery cable to terminal B, negative battery cable to terminal A

2.  Visually inspect from the oil passage and verify that the spool valve operates and moves to the position shown in the figure when battery voltage is applied between OCV terminals A and B.

•  If there is any malfunction, replace the OCV.

3.  Stop applying battery positive voltage and verify that the spool valve returns to its original position.

•  If there is any malfunction, replace the OCV.
