BARO sensor in PCM: Run error

Detection condition
Determination condition
•  Malfunction in BARO sensor signal circuit in PCM occurs.
Preconditions
•  All of the following conditions are met.
―  Battery voltage: 8—16 V
―  0.5 s elapses after engine is started
Drive cycle
•  1
Self-test type
•  CMDTC self test
Sensor/unit used
•  BARO sensor (integrated with PCM)
Fail-safe
•  Inhibits the automatic diesel particulate filter regeneration control.
•  Inhibits the manual diesel particulate filter regeneration control.
•  Inhibits the EGR control.
•  Stops the G-vectoring control (GVC).
•  Limits the engine transaxle total control.
•  Inhibits engine-stop by i-stop control.
Vehicle status when DTCs are output
•  Check engine light turns on
Possible Cause
•  BARO sensor malfunction (integrated with PCM)
•  PCM malfunction

Function Explanation (DTC Detection Outline)

•  If there is communication error between the BARO sensor control driver and the CPU, the PCM stores a DTC.

Repeatability Verification Procedure

•  Leave the vehicle for 10 s with the ignition switched ON (engine off) or while idling.

•  Record the freeze frame data/snap shot data.
Go to the troubleshooting procedure to perform the procedure from Step 1.


Troubleshooting Diagnostic Procedure

Intention of troubleshooting procedure
•  Step 1
―  Perform a unit inspection of the BARO sensor.
•  Steps 2 to 3
―  Verify that the primary malfunction is resolved and there are no other malfunctions.

PURPOSE: INSPECT BARO PRESSURE SENSOR
•  Is the BARO sensor normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the BARO sensor., then go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
•  Reconnect all the disconnected connectors.
•  Refer to the [MEMORY CLEARING PROCEDURE] and clear the DTC.
•  Implement the repeatability verification procedure.
•  Display the DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Has DTC P2226:00 been recorded?
Yes
Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY OTHER DTCs
•  Has any other DTC or pending code been stored?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
