FAN CONTROL MODULE INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2]

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Start and warm up the engine.

3.  Access the following PIDs using the M-MDS. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].)

•  ECT (Engine coolant temperature)
•  FAN_DUTY (Fan control module No.1)
•  FAN_DUTY2 (Fan control module No.2)

4.  Measure the voltage at fan control module connector (3-pin connector) terminal B while measuring the engine coolant temperature under the following conditions.

•  If not within the specification, inspect the input signals from the following parts. If all the following parts are normal, replace the fan control module.
―  Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor
―  Refrigerant pressure sensor
―  Battery
