Purpose, Function

• Stores high pressure fuel from the supply pump and distributes it to the fuel injectors.

Construction

Fuel injector (2pin type)

• The common rail is installed to the engine compartment.

• The common rail has an integrated fuel pressure relief valve and fuel pressure sensor.

Fuel injector (6pin type)

• The common rail is installed to the engine compartment.

Fuel pressure relief valve

• If the pressure in the common rail exceeds a certain value, fuel is discharged.

Fuel pressure sensor (fuel injector (2pin type))

• Detects the fuel pressure in the common rail.
