EXHAUST SHUTTER VALVE INSPECTION [WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5)]

Note
•  The exhaust shutter valve cannot be removed because it is built into the TWC. When replacing the exhaust shutter valve, replace the TWC.

Resistance inspection

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Lift up the vehicle.

3.  Disconnect the exhaust shutter valve connector. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5)].)

4.  Inspect the resistance between exhaust shutter valve terminals A and B.

Exhaust shutter valve resistance (specification)
0.3—100 ohms [20 °C {68 °F}]
•  If not within the specification, replace the TWC. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5)].)
