Purpose, Function
• To improve fuel economy and promote boost efficiency, the exhaust manifold discharges exhaust gas from each cylinder efficiently according to the engine conditions.
• To improve exhaust efficiency, the exhaust passage to the catalytic converter has been shortened by locating the 4-3 type exhaust passages on the exhaust side inside the cylinder head. Because the high temperature exhaust gas passes through the catalytic converter by shortening the distance from the combustion chamber to the catalytic converter, quick warming of the catalyst converter has been enabled and the purification rate of the exhaust gas has been improved.
• An exhaust manifold variable valve has been adopted to efficiently send the exhaust gas to the dynamic pressure turbo turbine.

Construction
• The exhaust manifold is located on the exhaust side of the cylinder head.
• The exhaust manifold is equipped with parts such as an exhaust manifold variable valve actuator, lever, shaft, and exhaust manifold variable valve.
Operation
• By operating the lever, the exhaust manifold variable valve opens/closes using the pressure applied to the exhaust manifold variable valve actuator. The passage that the exhaust gas flows is switched by the opening and closing of the exhaust manifold variable valve.
• When the exhaust manifold variable valve is closed, the exhaust gas passes through the upper 3 holes of the exhaust manifold and is sent to the dynamic pressure turbo turbine wheel.

The flow speed of the exhaust gas sent to the turbine wheel increases as it passes through the narrow passages of the upper 3 holes.

• When the exhaust manifold variable valve is open, the exhaust gas passes through the upper 3 holes and lower 3 holes of the exhaust manifold and is sent to the dynamic pressure turbo turbine wheel.

The flow speed of the exhaust gas sent to the turbine wheel decreases as it passes through the upper 3 holes and lower 3 holes, however, large amounts of exhaust gas can be sent.
