Purpose/Function

• If the engine oil level is detected and it is not within the specified value, the engine oil level warning indication /engine oil level warning light in the instrument cluster illuminates.

• The PCM detects the engine oil level based on the engine oil level sensor signal.

Block Diagram

• The engine oil level warning indication is built into the instrument cluster.

Operation

• The PCM calculates the engine oil level based on the engine oil level sensor signal and the vehicle driving information.

• If the PCM determines that the engine oil level is not within the specified value, it sends engine oil level warning indication / engine oil level warning light request to the instrument cluster.
