Wirh SCR system

Purpose, Function

•  The PM sensor detects PM which could not be collected by the diesel particulate filter, and inputs the current to the dosing control unit via a CAN signal.

Construction

•  The gas detection area (probe) of the PM sensor is installed to the rear of the SCR converter.

•  The PM sensor (control unit) of the PM sensor is secured to the bracket under the floor.

•  The PM sensor (control unit) is integrated with the probe and therefore cannot be disconnected.

Operation

•  The current changes by absorbing soot into the sensor element surface and the PM sensor detects the soot amount.

After engine start and before start of measurement:

―  It operates the heater at low temperature and waits (Because damage may occur if element contacts water)

Before measurement start

―  

Note

•  It starts to measure when a measurement signal is input by the dosing control unit.

―  It operates the heater and burns the soot on the sensor element surface to detect soot.

During measurement:

―  It does not operate the heater during measurement, but after the measurement is completed, it operates it at low temperature again.
