Purpose, Function

•  The urea quality sensor detects the AdBlue^® concentration in the urea tank.

•  The detected concentration is sent to the PCM via a CAN signal from the dosing control unit after sending it to the dosing control unit via SENT communication.

Construction

•  The urea quality sensor is installed in the urea tank.

Operation

•  The urea quality sensor is supplied power from the dosing control unit and initiates measuring the AdBlue^® concentration.

•  After supplying the power, it begins measuring the initial concentration after approx. 9 s, and then performs the measurement approx. every 21 s.

Measurement method

•  By operating the built-in heater, the urea quality sensor measures the change in the AdBlue^® temperature using the temperature sensor.

•  The urea quality sensor detects the AdBlue^® concentration by the difference in thermal conductivity and also detects fluid other than AdBlue^®.
