CONDENSER INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T]

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Discharge the refrigerant. (See REFRIGERANT RECOVERY.) (See REFRIGERANT CHARGING.)

3.  Remove the front under cover No.1. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.1 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)

5.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Plug hole plate (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)
(2)  Air cleaner, air hose and fresh air duct component (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)
(3)  Coolant reserve tank (See COOLANT RESERVE TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)
(4)  Cooling fan component (See COOLING FAN MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)
(5)  Charge air cooler inlet hose (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)
(6)  Charge air cooler outlet hose (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)
(7)  Radiator (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)

6.  Remove the condenser. (See CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)

7.  Inspect the condenser for cracks, damage, and oil leakage.

•  If there is any malfunction, replace the condenser. (See CONDENSER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)

8.  Visually inspect for bent fins for restriction or foreign matter.

•  If any fins are restricted, remove the foreign matter.

9.  Visually inspect for bent fins.

•  If any fins are bent, use the end of a flathead screwdriver to straighten fins.
